At the National Library, a large book exhibition titled “Tovuz Battles – The Road to Victory” has been opened, dedicated to the heroic chronicle of the Azerbaijani Army.

The exhibition presents books in Azerbaijani and other languages about the April battles marking the beginning of the Great Victory, the Tovuz clashes, the 44-day Patriotic War, and the brilliant victory achieved under the wise military and political leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. It also highlights the bravery of Azerbaijani soldiers and the combat path of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the homeland.

The Tovuz clashes began on July 12, 2020, when Armenian armed forces violated the ceasefire regime and attempted to seize positions on the Azerbaijan–Armenia state border in the direction of Tovuz district. After several days of fighting, the attack was repelled and the enemy was dealt a decisive blow. The battles ended on July 17 with Azerbaijan’s victory, without any territorial losses.

The exhibition also recalls the national solidarity demonstrations in support of the Azerbaijani Army and the Supreme Commander, as well as the subsequent 44-day Patriotic War that led to the liberation of the occupied territories and restored Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
