The director of the National Library of Azerbaijan spoke at the CENL meeting held at the Presidential Library in Ankara

At the 36th annual meeting of the Conference of European National Libraries (CENL) held at the Presidential Library in Ankara, Director of the National Library of Azerbaijan, Professor Karim Tahirov greeted all the participants and talked about the projects implemented by the National Library of Azerbaijan in recent years in order to protect the national moral values of Azerbaijan, together with the Ministry of Culture, with the active support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Among these projects, the Director spoke about bringing digital copies of the manuscripts of our genius poets Nizami, Nasimi, Khataini, Tusi and others preserved in world libraries to the republic within the framework of the "Return of our National Moral Values to the Homeland" project, which was carried out with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in recent years and aimed returning of our moral values to Azerbaijan, which were once transported abroad from our country in various ways.

At the same time, he used the opportunity to express his gratitude to the national library directors of Turkey, Germany, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Albania, Austria, Hungary and other European countries for presenting the digital copies of Nizami's valuable manuscripts to the National Library of Azerbaijan last year.

At the end of his speech, Professor Karim Tahirov announced that the 100th anniversary of the National Library of Azerbaijan will be celebrated at a high level in Baku next fall, and invited all CENL member national library directors to visit Baku as guests to participate in the anniversary celebrations in the fall of 2023. Frank Scholze, President of CENL, General Director of the German National Library, expressed his gratitude to Professor Karim Tahirov for the invitation and said that they accepted the invitation with pleasure and wished him and his team success in advance.
