A traditional book exhibition titled “Public Figure Fazil Mustafa – 60” has been launched at the National Library on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the birth of Fazil Mustafa — Member of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Public Associations and Religious Organizations, Chairman of the Great Establishment Party, and Doctor of Philosophy in Philosophy.
The exhibition showcases a wide range of materials reflecting Fazil Mustafa’s diverse contributions to public life, including his works offering new and unique perspectives on various pressing issues such as global politics, historical figures, the successful struggle for Karabakh, and different spheres of societal life. Featured are his books, poems, collections of recent articles and essays published in the press on socio-political topics, his speeches at the Milli Majlis, as well as literature and press materials in both Azerbaijani and foreign languages.
It should be noted that Fazil Mustafa (Fazil Gazanfar oglu Mustafa) was born on October 19, 1965, in the city of Nakhchivan. From 1986 to 1991, he studied at the Faculty of Law of Baku State University.
Between 1991 and 1992, he served as an advisor to the Chairman of the Azerbaijani Popular Front. In 1992, he headed the Analytical Center of the Popular Front. From 1992 to 1993, he was the head of the State-Law Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Between 1995 and 1998, he was the representative of the Azerbaijani Popular Front Party (APFP) in Turkey, and from 1998 to 2001, he served as the deputy chairman for political affairs of the APFP.
In 2003, he founded the Great Establishment Party and was elected its chairman at the first congress. He was re-elected as party chairman in 2006, 2009, 2012, 2016, and 2020.
In 2005, he earned the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Philosophy by defending his dissertation on “The Religious-Philosophical Outlook of Azerbaijani Turks: A Philosophical Aspect” at the Institute of Philosophy and Law of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
Fazil Mustafa has been elected to the Milli Majlis in 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2024. He has served in various parliamentary committees and international organizations. On September 23, 2024, he was elected Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Public Associations and Religious Organizations in the 7th convocation of the Milli Majlis. On October 8, he was appointed head of the Azerbaijan–North Macedonia Inter-Parliamentary Working Group. He is also a member of several inter-parliamentary working groups and international cooperation organizations.
Fazil Mustafa is the author of numerous books published in both Turkey and Azerbaijan, as well as hundreds of scientific and journalistic articles. His widely known books include: “Abulfaz Elchibey: From History to the Future”, “The Faith Struggle of the Azerbaijani Turk”, “Turkish Identity and the Azerbaijani Homeland”, “Resurrection After Death”, “Elegy About Our Bones”, “A Turk’s Manifesto”, “From This Nation to That One”, “The Religious-Philosophical Outlook of Azerbaijani Turks”, “The Foundation of the Second Republic”, and “From Asia to Civilization”.
