A virtual exhibition named "Kamal Talibzadeh-100" was presented to users in the National Library of Azerbaijan

This year, the 100th anniversary of the Honored Scientist, Professor Kamal Talibzadeh is celebrated.

Kamal Talibzadeh was born on August 14, 1923 in the family of Abdulla Shaig, a prominent representative of Azerbaijani literature.

In 1945, he graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Azerbaijan State University (now BSU). Since 1945, he started scientific activity at the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences. Kamal Talibzadeh performed the positions of department head, deputy director for scientific affairs, and director of the institute in different years. In 1948, he completed his post-graduate studies and defended his thesis on "Life and creativity of Abbas Sahhat", in 1949 he received the scientific degree of doctor of philological sciences. In 1972, he received the scientific title of professor. Kemal Talibzade was a teacher of Azerbaijan State University (BSU), Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University.

The emergence and development of many directions of the science of literature, especially the historical and theoretical fields of literary criticism, are connected with the name of Kamal Talibzadeh. In 1982, Kemal Talibzadeh was awarded the honorary title of Honored Scientist.

For his achievements in his scientific work, the scientist was awarded the medal "For distinction in labour" and the Order of Glory.

Academician Kamal Talibzadeh died on January 20, 2006 in Baku and was buried in Alley of Honour.

On the occasion of the anniversary, a virtual exhibition called "Kamal Talibzadeh-100" was prepared by the employees of the National Library of Azerbaijan. Photos, books and articles about Kamal Talibzadeh, books authored, compiled and edited by him are displayed in the virtual exhibition.
