Prospects for cooperation between the Azerbaijan National Library and the National Sechenyi Library of Hungary have been discussed.

During a business visit to Hungary, Director of the Azerbaijan National Library, Professor Karim Tahirov, visited one of the country’s leading scientific and cultural institutions — the National Szechenyi Library.

During the meeting, the guests were welcomed by the library’s management, who provided detailed information about the institution’s history, activities, and rich collections. It was noted that the National Szechenyi Library serves as Hungary’s main center of national memory, playing a vital role in collecting, preserving, and passing on the country’s printed heritage to future generations. The library’s collections include millions of books, manuscripts, maps, and other rare materials.

Within the framework of the meeting, the parties exchanged views on key areas of future cooperation in the field of librarianship. Discussions focused on strengthening information exchange, introducing new service models for readers, and integrating modern technologies into library activities. Professor Karim Tahirov emphasized the importance of developing relations at an institutional level and highlighted the value of continuous dialogue in this direction. The sides also expressed their intention to implement joint initiatives and expand professional exchange in the future.
