A book exhibition called "Molla Veli Vidadi - 315" was opened in the National Library

Molla Veli Vidadi, one of the classical representatives of Azerbaijani literature, is one of the figures distinguished by his unique creativity.

Molla Veli Vidadi was born in Shamkir in 1709. He received his first education in Shamkir and came to Poylu to continue his studies. Here he learned Arabic and Persian languages ​​perfectly. The poet did not return to his homeland from Poylu, but came to the village of Shikhli, where he worked as a scribe, secretary and school teacher under Ahmadaga. That is why he was known as Molla Veli.

Vidadi occupied a unique place in Azerbaijani literature, wrote beautiful couplets, ghazals, bayatis, gerayls, mukhammas in lively vernacular language. The attributes of Vidadi's poetry are creation, faith, optimism, cheerfulness, wisdom, fragility, despair, longing, and the pain of exile, characteristic of a person. He was a contemporary, relative, and close friend of Molla Panah Vagif. He also wrote the poem "Müsibətnamə", which reflects the real historical events of his time, on the occasion of the death of his friend Vagif.

On the occasion of the 315th anniversary of the birth of Molla Veli Vidadi, the National Library opened a book exhibition called "Molla Veli Vidadi - 315". The exhibition displays the works of Molla Veli Vidadi, books about him published in Azerbaijani and other languages, and publications about his conversations with Molla Panah Vagif.
