The Days of Azerbaijani Culture, held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, continue with engaging concerts, events, and presentations.
On September 25, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Library of Azerbaijan.
The document was signed by Professor Karim Tahirov, Honored Worker of Culture and Director of the National Library of Azerbaijan, and Gaziza Nurgalieva, Director of the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Following the signing ceremony, the opening of the "Azerbaijani Literature Corner" took place at the National Academic Library of Kazakhstan.
The symbolic ribbon was cut by Karim Tahirov and Gaziza Nurgalieva to mark the official opening of the corner.
In his speech, Karim Tahirov provided information about the "Azerbaijani Literature Corner." He noted that the corner features publications on Azerbaijan’s modern achievements, the glorious Victory of the Azerbaijani Army in the 44-day Patriotic War under the leadership of the President and Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, as well as books on the country’s history, culture, and literature. In total, more than 250 books are presented in the permanent corner.
Karim Tahirov also recalled that the "Kazakh Literature Corner" was solemnly opened at the National Library of Azerbaijan in 2019 with the participation of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Director of the National Academic Library of Kazakhstan, Gaziza Nurgalieva, emphasized that their cooperation with the National Library of Azerbaijan has been ongoing since 2003. She expressed confidence that the collaboration between the two libraries will continue to develop.
Other speakers also highlighted the importance of strengthening relations between the two institutions and regarded the opening of the "Azerbaijani Literature Corner" at the Kazakh library as a significant event.
Later, the Secretary of the Union of Azerbaijani Writers, Ilgar Fahmi, and poet-essayist Farid Huseyn were presented with honorary membership certificates of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan.
At the end of the event, participants enjoyed dishes from the national cuisine and became acquainted with the publications displayed at the "Azerbaijani Literature Corner".
