On January 19, Sara Azimova, editor-in-chief of “Sharq Qapisi”, the official newspaper of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, visited the National Library of Azerbaijan.

She was welcomed by Professor Karim Tahirov, Director of the National Library. During the meeting, discussions focused on organizing joint events to mark the 105th anniversary of “Sharq Qapisi”, obtaining newspaper issues that are not available in the National Library’s archive, creating a complete electronic archive of the newspaper, and exploring opportunities for future collaboration.

The parties also discussed the publication of a full-text bibliography of collections related to National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s activities during the Nakhchivan period, as well as other projects planned this year in connection with the 105th anniversary of “Sharq Qapisi.”

The meeting, held in a friendly and professional atmosphere, emphasized the role of libraries in preserving the history of national press and transmitting regional media heritage to future generations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Sara Azimova presented Professor Karim Tahirov with the book “Nakhchivan – Heroes of 100 Years”. In return, Professor Tahirov gifted her the National Library’s publications “Zafar Salnamasi,” “Nakhchivan Bibliography,” and the photo album “National Library of Azerbaijan.”
