A solemn concert dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Uzeyir Hajibeyli was held in Bishkek.

As is well known, this year marks the 140th anniversary of the birth of the great Azerbaijani composer, creator of the first opera in the East, distinguished musicologist, talented publicist, playwright, pedagogue, prominent public figure, People’s Artist, laureate of state awards, and academic Uzeyir Hajibeyli (1885–1948).

On February 3, 2025, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, signed a decree on celebrating the anniversary of this eminent musician at the state level.

Various events are being organized both within Azerbaijan and abroad to honor Uzeyir Hajibeyli’s exceptional contributions to the development of Azerbaijani musical culture.

The composer’s 140th anniversary was also commemorated during the Azerbaijani Culture Days held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, from April 20 to 25. On April 23, a concert dedicated to Uzeyir Hajibeyli’s 140th anniversary was held, featuring Azerbaijani art masters accompanied by the Kyrgyz State Academic Symphony Orchestra named after A. Jumakhmatov.
