On April 9, an excursion of second-year students of the Library Science Faculty of the Shirvan State College of Economics and Humanities to the National Library was organized. The excursion aimed to help students apply their theoretical knowledge in a real working environment, strengthen their professional skills, and gain practical experience for their future careers.

After familiarizing themselves with the library registration procedures, the students visited the Heydar Aliyev corner, which displays documents about the life and activities of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. They were then provided with detailed information about the library’s activities, working regime, book collection, and stages of service processes. The process of searching for and ordering books in the catalogue was demonstrated practically. In the section on the organization of electronic resources and the local network, the students were introduced to electronic resources and their usage rules.

In the Departments of Information Resources Acquisition and Development of Electronic Search Systems, students learned about the registration, indexing, and bibliographic description of literature in Azerbaijani and foreign languages.

During their visit to the Exhibition Hall, Student Youth Hall, and Rare Books and Library Museum, the students were informed about preserved books, ancient and rare editions, miniature book collections, and various exhibits. Their questions were answered in detail. In the Sheet Music and Sound Recordings Department, preserved audio recordings, musical scores, and other musical literature attracted particular interest.

The teachers leading the group, Alma Jafarova and Nahida Mikayilova, expressed their deep gratitude to the management of the National Library for the organization. At the end, a commemorative photo was taken.
