Writer and publicist, Professor Almaz Ulvi has presented her new works to the Azerbaijan National Library

Writer-publicist, professor, Navai scholar, and researcher and promoter of Uzbek literature Almaz Ulvi visited the Azerbaijan National Library.

She familiarized herself with the book exhibition titled “Writer-Publicist Almaz Ulvi,” held at the National Library in honor of her 65th birthday anniversary. She expressed her gratitude to the library administration for organizing the exhibition.

Almaz Ulvi donated 58 copies of 18 book titles authored by her to the library’s collection. Among them are works such as “You Never Say, Where Is My Alasgar?!”, “Literary Portraits”, “I Am Not Afraid to Set Out on a Distant Journey”, materials related to the presentation of her monograph “The Era and Prose of Alisher Navoi (Scientific-Philological and Religious-Mystical Works)”, and “Adabiy Portretlar” in Uzbek, among others.

The Director of the National Library, Professor Kerim Tahirov, highly appreciated Almaz Ulvi’s contribution, emphasizing that the Azerbaijan National Library serves as the national archive fund and that it is essential to have all books published within Azerbaijan available there.

It should be noted that Almaz Ulvi has devoted 30 years of her scientific career to studying Uzbek literature in Azerbaijan. She has published numerous books and over 250 articles on the topic of Alisher Navoi and Uzbek literature, including “Azerbaijan-Uzbek (Chagatai) Literary Relations” (2008), “Azerbaijan-Uzbek Literary Relations: Periods, Figures, Genres, and Trends” (2008), “Alisher Navoi in Azerbaijani Literary Criticism” (2009), “Uzbek Literature and Azerbaijan (Research, Literary Portraits)” (2016), “From the History of Eastern Tazkirah Literature” (2019), “Alisher Navoi: Wise Words (in Azerbaijani and Uzbek)” (2020), “The Era and Prose of Alisher Navoi” (2020), “Nizami Ganjavi and Alisher Navoi: Tradition and Innovation” (2021), “Zahiruddin Muhammad Babur and Azerbaijan” (2022), among others.

Additionally, she is one of the authors of the first Azerbaijani-Uzbek and Uzbek-Azerbaijani dictionary (25,000 words) in the history of Azerbaijani-Uzbek literary relations.
