Today, June 18, is marked as National Human Rights Day in Azerbaijan. In 1998, the State Program on Protection of Human Rights was approved for the first time by Heydar Aliyev, National Leader of Azerbaijan. Taking into account that ensuring human rights is one of the main priorities of state policy, the National Human Rights Day was established in Azerbaijan by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated June 17, 2007.
On this occasion, the staff of the National Library of Azerbaijan has prepared a virtual exhibition entitled “June 18 – National Human Rights Day”. The virtual exhibition includes books and articles related to the topic.
