The Ministry of Culture and Tourism and National Library held the presentation and sighning ceremony of Georgian poet Giorgi Kekelidze’s “Gurian diaries” book translated into Azerbaijani at the “Open Library”

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Azerbaijan National Library held the presentation and signing ceremony of the young Georgian poet Giorgi Kekelidze’s “Gurian diaries” book translated into Azerbaijani and published from the “Georgian literature series”, at the National Library – “Open Library”, on March 9.

Opening the event director of the National Library professor Karim Tahirov greeted the participants of the event. He spoke briefly about the activities of his Georgian colleague Kekelidze.

The Secretary of the Writers’ Union for youth affairs, Editor-in-chief of “Newspaper 525” Rashad Majid, member of Azerbaijani Writers’ Union Board of directors, Editor-in-chief of the World literature magazine, poet, essayist, translator Salim Babullaoglu, member of the Writers’ Union Board of directors, Head of translation section, teacher at ASPU Parvin Nuraliyeva, senior lecturer of the Bibliology and publishing affairs Chair of BSU Library and information science faculty Rasim Suleymanov spoke about the activities and works of the poet.

Fellow at the Turkological studies research laboratory of BSU Parvin Eyvazov, the master student of BSU Parvin Rahimov, the first-year student of ASPU Sariyya Mehdizadeh, the third-year student of the Library and information science faculty of BSU, the Chair of Student Scientific Society Haji Gasimli, the first-year student of the Library and information science faculty of BSU Ulkar Dadashova performed the poet’s poems translated into Azerbaijani.

Then the author Giorgi Kekelidze made a speech and expressed his gratitude to the National Library for holding that event. Then there was held signing ceremony and the author signed and presented his newly published book to the readers.

In the end, Giorgi Kekelidze wrote his wishes on the Memorial book.
