It should be noted that in 1998, August 12 was officially designated as International Youth Day. Since then, this day has been widely observed around the world to draw attention to young people, promote their achievements, and encourage their participation in all areas of society.

Azerbaijan has been a forerunner in this area, ahead of many countries and international organizations. In fact, after the establishment of Youth Day in Azerbaijan by the decree of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in 1997, the UN General Assembly, following the recommendations of the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth held from August 8 to 12, 1998, officially declared August 12 as International Youth Day on December 17, 1999.

The state youth policy in Azerbaijan is closely associated with National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who always paid great attention to young people, prioritized addressing their issues, and regarded youth policy as one of the most important directions of the independent Azerbaijani state.

Today, the country continues to provide the highest attention and care to youth, implementing successful state youth policies. Under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the youth policy founded by Heydar Aliyev is being carried forward in line with modern requirements, creating broad opportunities for the comprehensive development of young people.
