Mr. Sanjay Rana, the Ambassador of India to the Republic of Azerbaijan visited the National Library.

On December 13, Ambassador of India to the Republic of Azerbaijan visited the National Library. Director of the National Library professor Karim Tahirov received the guests. During the meeting, speaking about the relations between the two countries professor Karim Tahirov expressed with regret that there is no any mutual relations with the National Library of India, and hoped to establish bilateral mutual relations between the Azerbaijan National Library and the National Library of India after that meeting.
In his turn, Mr. Ambassador expressed his pleasure to be in the library, spoke about the relations between Azerbaijan and India, and noted that Atashgah temple shows that we have common culture.
Also, Mr. Ambassador said that he will give books on the history, geography and culture of India to the National Library and will do his best to enrich the fund of the National Library with books about India.
During the meeting, the Ambassador also gave information about the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research in India and invited the employees of the National Library to take part in those courses.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Ambassador presented the book that dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Indian writer Rabindranath Tagore to the National Library. Director Karim Tahirov also presented “National Library. Photo album” (in Azerbaijani, English and Russian), “Azerbaijan musical instruments” (in Azerbaijani and English) books and the map of Azerbaijan to the guest. 
Then Mr. Ambassador got closely acquainted with the library and “Open Library” that operating under the National Library. Emphasizing the importance of such a creative project, Mr. Ambassador wrote his thoughts on the Memory Book.
