On December 22, the 100th anniversary of the National Library of Azerbaijan was celebrated at the Residence of TURKSOY.

First, the opening of the book exhibition of publications of the National Library took place in the exhibition hall of TURKSOY.

TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Rayev in his speech highly appreciated the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the National Library of Azerbaijan in Ankara. He noted that great works have been done together with the National Library for years. The speaker said that the National Library of Azerbaijan had a history of high level development and participated in one of the most important events of the Turkic world. At the end of his speech, Sultan Rayev thanked the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Library of Azerbaijan.

Director of the National Library Karim Tahirov noted that it is a great coincidence that the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev and the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye coincide. He also said that TURKSOY has done great work in the development of the culture of the Turkic world for 30 years and that joint projects will be signed in the future.

Director of Bishkek City Library Gulsayra Jandibayeva, who participated in the event, congratulated the National Library of Azerbaijan on the occasion of its 100th anniversary.

Akif Marifli, head of the book industry department of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, once again congratulated the 100th anniversary of the National Library of Azerbaijan and noted the invaluable friendship of TURKSOY. He emphasized that the National Library of Azerbaijan is a sacred center of science that produces outstanding personalities.

Aygun Gojayeva, the press secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Ankara, poet and writer Yasemen Meydan said that it was a very proud feeling to participate in the 100th anniversary of the National Library of Azerbaijan, and emphasized that the National Library of Azerbaijan is one of the most important centers of knowledge.

In the end, Sultan Rayev, Secretary General of TURKSOY, gave a letter of thanks to Karim Tahirov and the staff of the National Library.
