A book exhibition called "People's Artist Ramiz Zohrabov" was opened in the National Library

The 85th anniversary of the birth of Ramiz Zohrabov, one of our outstanding scientists who has a unique place in the science of musicology of Azerbaijan, people's artist of Azerbaijan, doctor of art studies, professor.

Zohrabov, son of Ramiz Farzulla, was born on May 2, 1939 in Baku. In 1947-1958, Ramiz Zohrabov studied at the secondary music school under the Azerbaijan State Conservatory, in 1958-1960 at the string instruments department of the Conservatory's performance faculty, and graduated from the Conservatory with a degree in musicology in 1965.

The books "Azerbaijani classifications", "Azerbaijani zarbi-mugamlar", "Mugam", "Portrait of our composers", "Theoretical basis of Rast mugam dastgah", "Theoretical basis of "Chahargah" mugam" published in 1983 in Moscow and in 1991 in Tabriz Azerbaijan is one of the remarkable examples of musicology. Professor Ramiz Zohrabov is also the author of textbooks "Azerbaijani musical literature" and "Azerbaijani professional music with oral tradition".

R. Zohrabov, who is engaged in music creation, wrote the suites and instrumental pieces "Bayram lovhalari", "Children's scenes", "Ardabil lovhalari" for the orchestra of folk instruments. Various songs of the author were performed with interest by famous singers, children's choir and soloists.

The artist, who made significant contributions to the study and promotion of our musical culture, was awarded the honorary titles of "Honored Art Worker", "People's Artist", the Order of "Fame" and the national award "Humay".

In connection with Professor Ramiz Zohrabov's 85th anniversary, a large book exhibition called "People's Artist Ramiz Zohrabov" was prepared in the National Library.

In the exhibition, sheet music, monographs of the composer's works preserved in the collection of the National Library, books dedicated to the composer's life and creativity, written by the compiler, preface, scientific editor and review, are displayed in Azerbaijani and Russian languages.

The exhibition will last 1 week.
