The traditional book "Tofiq Kazimov - 100" and the virtual exhibition of the same name were presented in the National Library

On January 14, the 100th anniversary of the birth of Tofig Samad Mansur oghlu Kazymov, a well-known Azerbaijani theater director, actor, Honored Art Worker, People's Artist, will be celebrated. On this occasion, a traditional book exhibition was opened at the National Library on January 12. The works of Tofig Kazimov, books written about him, and articles published in periodicals are reflected in the exhibition, which will be displayed for a week.

Tofig Kazimov approached the work from the point of view of today's reality in his plays based on classical plays, revealed the modernity in the yeast of the events unfolding in a historical period, interpreted the play on the level of the current world view, and was able to achieve an artistic solution to universal problems. The performances "The Dead", "The Fairy Witch", "Monsieur Jordan and the Dervish Mastali Shah" are considered as a manifestation of T. Kazimov's modern attitude to the classical national dramaturgy.

The outstanding director was awarded with State awards for the plays "Antony and Cleopatra" in 1965 and "Summer Days of the City" in 1979. In 1961, he was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Artist", and in 1974, "People's Artist".
