27-10-2023

On October 29, 2023, the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Türkiye will be completed. This remarkable jubilee is a date that is a source of pride not only for brother Türkiye, but for the entire Turkic world.

On October 29, 1923, the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye declared the Republic. Thus, after the fall of the Azerbaijan People's Republic, the first democratic republic of the East, the Republic of Türkiye became the only state in the Turkic world to raise the moon and star flag. Mustafa Kemal, the founder and first President of the Republic of Türkiye, carried out many reforms aimed at turning the country into a new and secular republic.

The first years of the republic were a difficult period in the history of Türkiye. However, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk ensured the indivisibility and consolidation of the country.

The achievements of the Republic of Türkiye, which has undergone significant development in the last 100 years, in the last 20 years should be emphasized. The sister country has undergone rapid development during the reign of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

On this occasion, a virtual exhibition called "Republic of Türkiye 100" was prepared by the employees of the National Library.
