As is known, in 2026 the 900th anniversaries of the great Azerbaijani poet Afzaladdin Khagani Shirvani and the world renowned architect Ajami Abubakr oglu Nakhchivani, the founder of the Nakhchivan architectural school, are being celebrated.

In order to mark the anniversaries of the brilliant poet Khagani Shirvani, one of the first powerful representatives of Renaissance period literature in Azerbaijan, and Ajami Nakhchivani, the author of magnificent architectural masterpieces, decrees were signed by President Ilham Aliyev.

The National Library has prepared digests titled “Khagani Shirvani: 900 Years of Literary Heritage” and “Ajamy Nakhchivani: A Prominent Figure of Azerbaijani Architecture (Dedicated to the 900th Anniversary).”

The digests include selected articles on the topic published in periodicals during 2024–2026, which have been researched and presented to users.
