10-day courses were held in the Azerbaijan National Library regarding with the application of ALISA program.

 

Since 06.07.2015, regarding with the application of new automated library system ALISA program in regions, 10-day courses were held in the National Library in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. In this connection, on 06.07.2015, the opening ceremony of these courses were held at the Azerbaijan National Library.

Director of the National Library professor Karim Tahirov, deputy director Elchin Musayev, other employees of the National Library, specialist of the ULTRA company Sarkhan Mammadov and specialists of MKSs of Salyan, Neftchala, Shirvan, Hajigabul, Bilasuvar, Saatli and Sabirabad took part at the ceremony.

Director of the National Library, Mr. K.Tahirov announced the courses opened and talked about the importance of learning the MARC 21 format in order to work with ALISA program that will be applied  in the regions, and he also stressed the importance of development of ALISA work skills. Sarkhan Mammadov, a representative from Ultra company said that two employees of Ultra would give detailed information about ALISA, they would teach business principles, and each region would be given password and login in a test mode. He also asked students to be active in the process of working, and to ask question related to difficulties encountered during the work, and to report the current problems immediately.

In his speech K.Tahirov noted that during the training, students will become familiar with the processes occurring in the National Library, and will receive information about new services, new ways of working. At the end of the training, students who completed their training perfectly will be awarded certificates.

Overall, in the future as a result of applying this system it will be possible to create a unique database in the National Library, and the whole district and city MKS's readers to get benefit from online services of the National Library.
