Head of the Public affairs department of the USA embassy in Baku Mrs. Emi Stayman visited the National Library on April 28. The guest was received by the director of the National Library professor Karim Tahirov.

Giving brief information about the library Karim Tahirov spoke of the cooperation between Azerbaijan National Library and the Library of Congress of the USA, book, bibliographic information and bibliographic record exchange.

Mrs. Stayman expressed her gratitude for the relations with the Library of Congress and wished to further strengthen the relations in the future. The guest got acquainted with the National Library and all of her questions were answered, the Open Library especially attracted her attention.

The guest who presented several books in English or translated into Azerbaijani from English was given the Azerbaijan National Library “Photo Album” (in Azerbaijani, English and Russian) and “Dreams of the old fortress” (in Azerbaijani and English) books.
