The virtual exhibition "Ahmed Bakikhanov-130" was presented to users online in the National Library

In 2022, the 130th anniversary of the birth of Ahmed Mammadrza oglu Bakikhanov, a prominent representative of Azerbaijan's musical culture, master tarzan and skilled pedagogue, People's Artist will be completed.

Ahmed Bakikhanov has made valuable contributions to the treasure of musical art of Azerbaijan with his extensive and multifaceted creativity full of constant searches. A highly talented artist who is a perfect connoisseur of the world of Mugham and has deeply mastered the secrets of tar performance, he faithfully preserved this unique cultural and spiritual heritage of our nation throughout his activities. The mughams played by him, as well as the songs, colors and classifications he composed, occupy a unique and worthy place in the golden fund of our music as brilliant examples of art. The ensemble of folk instruments, which was organized and led by Ahmet Bakikhanov for many years, was selected for its rich repertoire and closely participated in the cultural life of the country. A whole generation of tar singers who have written important pages in our musical annals are the students of Ahmet Bakikhanov.

Ahmed Bakikhanov, who made valuable contributions to the treasure of musical art of Azerbaijan, was awarded the honorary title of Honored Teacher in 1943, Honored Art Worker in 1961, and People's Artist in 1973. But it can be said with confidence that the master artist received the greatest honor by being the conqueror of music-loving hearts. The artist, who is known as a skilled performer of "Nava-nishapur" and "Abu-ata" mughams, which are rarely used in the art practice, is also the author of sheet music publications such as "Azerbaijan folk colors", "Azerbaijan rhythmic mughams", "Mugam, song, color".

On the occasion of the 130th anniversary of Ahmed Bakikhanov, the staff of the National Library of Azerbaijan prepared a virtual exhibition called "Ahmed Bakikhanov-130". The virtual exhibition displays photos, works authored by Ahmet Bakikhanov, as well as books written about him, articles published in periodicals.
