The presentation ceremony of the musical collections of Azerbaijani composers published in the series "From our national musical treasure: from the fund of the National Library of Azerbaijan" was held in the National Library.

On September 28, within the framework of the traditional XV Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival held on September 18-28 at the National Library, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Library held a presentation ceremony of the sheet music collections of 18 Azerbaijani composers under the joint project "From our national musical treasure: from the fund of the National Library of Azerbaijan" was held.

Director of the National Library, professor Karim Tahirov opened the event, greeted the guests and participants, and said that these days, the magnificent 15th Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival is being held in Azerbaijan, as it is every year. The director noted that the National Library has been active and effective in promoting Azerbaijani music in the world since 2019, and also informed about the cooperation with the International Petrucci Music Library, noting that notes and recordings of the works of great Azerbaijani composers are posted on the website of the Petrucci Music Library. He said that the musical collections of Azerbaijani composers published in Baku during the Soviet period are reprinted and sent to local music schools. Director Uzeyir Hajibeyli’s, Suleyman Alasgarov’s, Covdet Hajiyev’s and other Azerbaijani composers' music collections were re-compiled and published using the archives of Azerbaijani composers. He said that bibliographies have been published and publications in this direction are continued.

Honored artist Jahangir Salimkhanov, adviser to the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, noted in his speech that the main goal of such a festival is to bring our classical music to the masses. He spoke about the role of the National Library in promoting the works of Azerbaijani composers on a large scale, and expressed his gratitude to the staff of the library, especially Karim Tahirov. The speaker also emphasized the discovery of Uzeyir Hajibeyli's rare manuscripts and the importance of publishing new works.

People's artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan, professor Ramiz Guliyev, in his speech, spoke about the importance of the event held at the National Library in the direction of studying and promoting our national music, and said that the book is a source of knowledge and understanding.

Alla Bayramova, director of the State Museum of Musical Culture of Azerbaijan, first congratulated the employees of the National Library, headed by professor Karim Tahirov, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary, and spoke about the importance of the published musical works and bibliographies.

Grandson of People's Artist Suleyman Alasgarov, Honored Artist Tahir Imanov said he was happy to be invited to such an event and thanked the National Library as the protector of his grandfather's art for publishing the works of great composers.

Professor Nazim Kazimov, director of the College of Music under the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, expressed his gratitude to everyone who worked hard to publish all the works, said that many works were published for the first time, and expressed his gratitude to the National Library for such a project.

Director of Uzeyir Hajibeylin's House Museum, editor of sheet music, People's Artist Sardar Farajov noted that this event made the Music Festival even more beautiful.

In the end, Professor Karim Tahirov expressed his gratitude to the staff of the Library's Sheet Music Publications and Recordings Department and People's Artist Sardar Farajov, who contributed to the preparation of the publications, and noted that in the future, the collections of individual composers' works and less published ones will be published, and all the suggestions made by the speakers at the event will be taken into account, thanked the guests and participants.
