A book exhibition called "Azerbaijani culture with ancient roots" was opened in Qatar National Library

As we have reported, Azerbaijan Culture Days will be held in Doha, the capital of the State of Qatar, on February 21-24, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

On February 22, a book exhibition called "Azerbaijani culture with ancient roots" was held in the National Library of Qatar within the framework of culture days. Also, the presentation of the book "The Great Azerbaijani Poet Nizami" translated into Arabic by the outstanding orientalist-scientist, academician Yevgeny Bertels and the event "Poet of three languages ​​- Muhammad Fuzuli" were organized.

Secretary of Qatar, President of the Qatar National Library, Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari, made a speech and greeted the participants of the event. He said that cooperation relations between Qatar and Azerbaijan in various fields are developing on a rising line. He characterized the holding of Days of Azerbaijani Culture in Qatar as a significant event in terms of cultural cooperation and wished success to the delegation of our country.

In his speech, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Adil Karimli, expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Culture of this country, Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani, for his support in organizing the Azerbaijan Culture Days in Qatar.

It was noted that the sincere friendly relations of the heads of our countries played an important role in reaching a high level of relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar in various fields. We should try to develop relations in the cultural field as well as in cooperation in the political-economic field. Projects that will contribute to the mutual promotion of the rich culture of both countries should be implemented.

The minister said that according to the relevant order of President Ilham Aliyev, this year marks the 530th anniversary of the birth of the world-famous Azerbaijani poet and thinker Muhammad Fuzuli. Muhammad Fuzuli, who played an exceptional role in the development of medieval Azerbaijani literature, wrote his works in Azerbaijani, Arabic and Persian languages. His rich creativity is famous not only in Azerbaijan, but all over the world. Holding the 530th anniversary of Muhammad Fuzuli for the first time outside of our country in the National Library of Qatar is of great importance and has a symbolic meaning.

At the end of his speech, the minister expressed his gratitude to everyone who worked hard to organize the Azerbaijan Culture Days in Qatar.

The Director of the National Library of Azerbaijan, Professor Karim Tahirov, made a speech and gave information about the cooperation between the national libraries of the two countries. He said that holding Azerbaijan Culture Days in Qatar will be an opportunity to deepen relations in the library field. Information was also given about academician Yevgeny Bertels' book "Great Azerbaijani Poet Nizami" translated into Arabic. It is said that Nizami Ganjavi, who lived and created in the 12th century, is one of the rare geniuses that the Azerbaijani people gave to the world culture. It was reported that the book "Great Azerbaijani poet Nizami" was translated into several languages ​​of the world. The translation of this fundamental scientific work written in 1940 into Arabic will contribute to the greater Arab world getting to know the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker more closely.

Then video material dedicated to the life and creativity of the great Azerbaijani poet Muhammad Fuzuli was shown.

Ilgar Fahmi, the secretary of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, spoke about the idea-artistic features of Muhammad Fuzuli's work, and spoke about his influence on literary thought in the Turkish-Islamic world.

Later, musical numbers performed by the mugham trio were played. The mughams and classifications presented by the young singers were met with applause.

At the end, the participants of the event got acquainted with the "Azerbaijani culture with ancient roots" exhibition. The guests also tasted our national sweets.
